Boom
at Tumut 20
December 1950 Cootamundra Herald |
Gundagai is being left behind in the
march of progress. Our neighbouring town, Tumut, is
on the crest of the wave of advancement, business is expanding, industry is increasing, and building booming. This State or affairs is mainly due to
the Snowy River Development Scheme. The works have brought hundreds
of men to the district and hundreds of pounds to the Tumut
businessmen's pockets. At the present rate, Gundagai
will still be a village when Tumut is a city. 'Gundagai Independent.' |
