The
death of Mr. Alexander Wilkie Watson, proprietor of
the “Tumut & Adelong Times" for the last 50 years, occurred on
Monday. Mr. Wilkie Watson, who was 80 years of age, had not taken an
active interest in the 'Times” for the past seven years. He was
well known in country newspaper circles, and served
two terms on the executive of the Country Press Association. Mr. Wilkie Watson is survived by a widow and four sons. The
funeral took place at Tumut on Wednesday. |

death occurred on Friday last of Mr. Alexander Wilkie
Watson, senior member of A. Wilkie Watson and Sons,
Pty. Ltd., "Tumut Times" and "Adelong Express." Mr.
Watson was 80 years of age and leaves a widow and four sons, Clyde
(Goulburn), Errol Wilkie, Edward Alexander and
Harold Douglas. |
