Links with Early Land Settlement There recently passed away Mr. James
Martin Brennan, of "Naughen," Warren, at
the age of 77 years, after a lengthy illness. He was the eldest son of the late
Martin Brennan, of Narrandera and Tumut. Of the family of seven, whose ages
range between 60 and 80 years, the late J. M. Brennan is the first to pass
away. A few weeks previously Mr. Ignatius
Martin Brennan, eldest surviving son of the late Laurence Brennan, of
"The Brae," Wee Waa, passed away at his home at Wee Waa. For many years he had, in addition to
the management of "The Brae," taken a keen and prominent interest
in the activities of the town and district. He was a good judge of stock,
particularly horses. He was the second son of the late
Laurence and Catherine Brennan and was born at "Eurobin," near
Tumut, 63 years ago, and went with his parents to "The Brae" when
seven years of age. For many years he had managed
"The Brae" and was very well known for his interest in grazing
pursuits. He was married to Miss
"Molly" Connolly, formerly of Gunnedah. In addition to his sorrowing widow, he
is survived by four daughters: Mary (Maroubra), Anne (Wee Waa), Monica (Mrs.
Davidson, Tathra) and Lucy (Wee Waa), and three sons: Jack (Randwick), Brian
and Cyril (Wee Waa). He is also survived by two brothers,
Edward and Leo ("The Brae), and four sisters, Anne ("The
Brae"), Monica (Mrs. Woods, Taree), Ella (Mrs. Isberg,
Ashfield), Jo (Mrs. Gibson, Lane Cove). |
