Death
of Mrs. Johanna Platt 13

The death occurred on Sunday last
at the Tumut and, District Hospital, .where she had been a patient for
the past three weeks, of Mrs. Johanna Platt, widow of the late Mr.
Thomas Platt. of Tumut at the age of 84 years. She had been in failing health
for some time. The late Mrs. Platt was born at Gilmore
and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hastings. She married Mr. Thomas Platt, of Tumut,
where they remained for all their married life. Mr. Platt pre- deceased
her five years ago. There were no children born to
the union. For the past few years she had resided with her
brothers, Messrs. Edward and Joseph Hastings, of Simpson-Street,
Tumut, who survive. Brothers and sisters who predeceased
her were Michael, Hughie, John, James, Bridget, Maggie, Kate (Mrs.
W. Riley, Howlong). She was of a quiet, retiring disposition and lived
for her home. The funeral took place on Sunday, interment
being made in the Catholic portion of the Tumut, new cemetery. Rev. Fr.
O'Brien officiated at the graveside and pall-bearers were Messrs.
Ned and Joe Hastings (brothers), Tom Davy, Noel, Vince and Jack
Platt (nephews). The funeral arrangements were
