First
Sheep by Motor Truck 4
February 1947 The Tumut and Adelong Times |
History was made in Adelong recently
when four large transports moved 1,700 sheep belonging to Mr. T. Roche
from yards at Mt. Adrah to Wagga saleyards. It was the largest consignment of the kind
ever to leave the district, and impressed upon local graziers the vital part
that road transport plays in present-day stock movements. According to advice received in Wagga, the
sheep were all moved in two shifts, in one afternoon, by three large
trucks belonging to Mr. J. G. Tod, Wagga, and one truck belonging
to Mr. A. J. Prowse, Adelong. |
