The funeral of the late Mr. William
Henry Elphick, of Gossett street, Wagga, whose
death occurred at the Wagga Base Hospital on Friday evening at the age
of 88 years, took place in Wagga yesterday afternoon. The cortege, consisting of relatives
and friends from Wagga and Tumut, moved from J. C. McDonald's funeral parlour
at 4 p.m. for the Church of England portion of the Wagga cemetery,
where the Ven. Archdeacon West officiated at the graveside. The casket was carried, by Messrs.
Albert Snowden, Frederick Sutton, Michael. Kearns (sons-in-law)
and Leslie Snowden (nephew), while the floral tray, laden with
wreaths, was carried by Messrs. Jack Gibbons, Albert Dunn (nephew),
Gerald Snowden and Alan Leach (grandsons). The chief mourners, at the graveside,
in addition to those mentioned, were Mr. George, Elphick
{son), Mrs. F. Sutton, Mrs. A. Snowden, Mrs. M. Kearn.
Mrs. G. Brumby (daughters), Mrs. H. Crampton, Mrs.
F. Dowell (sisters), Mrs. Singh (sister-in-law), Mrs. G. Elphick (daughter in-law), Eric Leach, Neville Elphick, Mrs. L. Snowden, Mrs. G. Snowden, Mrs.
D. Learmonth, Mrs. J. Gibbons, Mrs. Joseph Gibbons, Mrs. A. Mount, Miss.
L. Dunn, Mr. H. Dunn, W. Learmonth and Leslie Snowden,(nephews and
nieces). Mrs. O. Jansen (daughter) was
unable to be present. The funeral arrangements were
conducted by Mr. J, C. Mc- Donald, of Wagga. |
