October 1959 The Canberra Times |
The N.S.W. Forestry Commission will
start work immediately on the first nine miles of another major forest road
in the Tumut district. The new road will cost £70,000. The Minister for Conservation, Mr. Wetherall, who announced this to-day, said the new
road - known as "Wee Jasper Road" - would be the fourth
major road built in the district for plantation purposes. In the past few years the commission
had spent about £4,000 on roads for a huge plantation programme in
the Tumut region. |
