Mr. A. E. H. Potter passed away at
the M.R.D. Hospital last Sunday night. He was the eldest son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Potter, of Tumut. Surviving brothers and sisters are:
George (Merrylands), Essie (Mrs. Day, Taree), Nicholas (Canterbury),
Edie (Mrs. Butler, Tumut), Vera (Mrs. McDonald, Tumut), and Phyllis
(Mrs. Geo. Butler, Gilmore). Those deceased are: Florrie (Mrs. E. Lynch) and Charles, who died in infancy. Mr. Potter lived in Sydney most of
his life. He married Miss Eileen Catherine
Green, of Moruya, in 1928, and she predeceased him 12years ago. There were no children. Norman and Warren Withers are grand-nephews.
They are sons of the late Mr. Len
Withers, who is a son of Mrs. Day by her first marriage. Mr. Withers was a railway official
in Tumut and other parts of New South Wales. Mr. Potter's remains were laid to rest
in the Church of England portion of Dawson cemetery, alongside the
remains of the late. Mr. Eric Hoad, who was a
cousin of deceased. Mr. Howard carried out the mortuary
duties, and the Rev. W. Latham conducted the service. Pall-bearers were Mr. Nicholas Potter (brother),
Mr. Berry, and Norman and Warren Withers. Many beautiful wreaths were sent by
sympathising friends, also quite a number of telegrams and cards were
sent to Mr. Potter's brother and Mrs Day, who have many friends here
and in other places. |
