  Mr. Frederick S. Carr   22

| As briefly announced in our last
  issue, the death took place at his residence in Herbert-st.. Tumut, on Wednesday last of
  Mr. Frederick Smith Carr after a lengthy illness.  Deceased, who was born at Tumut 71 years
  ago, was the sixth son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Carr. On
  completion of his schooling he was apprenticed to the late Mr. Robert Joyce
  in the building trade and in that capacity worked on most of the principal
  buildings in Tumut and Cootamundra and also in towns in the Irrigation Area. In his early days the late Mr. Carr
  was a keen footballer and featured in many matches as a member of the
  Tumut team.  He was a single man and on his retirement
  about fifteen years ago he took up residence with his sisters, Misses
  Sarah and Emma Carr, of Tumut.  He had been in failing health for
  some time and his death was not unexpected.  Brothers and sisters surviving are Messrs.
  Charles and Eli Carr (Tumut), William Carr (Gundagai), Tom Carr (Bankstown)
  and Misses Sara and Emma Carr (Tumut). Six brothers and two sisters
  predeceased him, viz.: Robert, George, James, Walter, Frank, Roland (killed
  at Gallipoli, 1914-18 war), Bessie (Mrs. Douglas) and Mary (Mrs. O'Mally).      Prior to the funeral, which took place on
  Thursday afternoon last, a service was conducted at the residence by
  Rev. S. Broadfoot, who also officiated at the graveside.  Interment took place in the C. of E. portion
  of the Tumut New Cemetery.  The pall-bearers were Messrs. Thomas Carr
  (brother), Monte and Jack Carr (nephews), Walter McGillivray (cousin) and
  Rowley McAlister and Alf. Johnson.  Floral tributes were from:- Sisters, Brothers;
