The death occurred at the Tumut and
District Hospital on Tuesday last of Mr. John Michael Sephton, of Brungle, at the age of 68 years. The late Mr. Sephton
had been a patient in the institution for the past three months. Deceased was a native of Euroa in Victoria
and was a son of the late Mr and Mrs. R. Sephton
of that town. He came to the Tumut district over 40
years ago and was employed on various properties both at Gilmore and
Brungle. He finally settled in the latter
village, where he married Miss Mary Jane Wade, who is left to mourn
the loss of a loving and devoted husband. There are also two sons, Noel and
Herbert, and one grandson surviving, as well as three brothers
residing in Melbourne. Deceased was of a quiet, retiring disposition,
but was popular with his fellow men. The funeral took place on Wednesday
last, leaving from All Saints' Church for the C. of E. portion of the Tumut New Cemetery. Rev. Broadfoot
officiated at the graveside, whilst Messrs. W. W. Beavan
& Son had charge of the funeral arrangements. Pall-bearers were Messrs. Noel and
Herb. Sephton (sons), D. McGruer,
J. Wade, E. Fenton and H. Harris. Floral tributes were received from Mum,
