After a long illness Mr. W. H. Smith,
of Adelong, passed away on the 10th February, at the age of 84 years.
He was very well known in Adelong
and district, a kind and loving husband and father, and was highly respected
by all who knew him. In the year 1886 he married Sarah Matthews,
of Adelong. The late Mr. Smith is survived by his
loving wife, whilst the family comprises Esther (Mrs. Gray, of Balmain),
Hilda (Mrs. W. J. Brown, Adelong), Edith (Mrs. Theo Miller, Adelong),
Jane (Mrs. T. J. O'Brien, Tumut), Ruby (Mrs. R. McLennan, Tumut),
Dorothy (Mrs. Hayne, Glebe), and William and Thomas, of Adelong. Prior to the funeral a service was held
at St. Paul's Church by the Rev. N. R. Edwards. Interment took place in
the Church of England portion of the Adelong Cemetery and Rev. Edwards
officiated at the grave side. Funeral arrangements were in the
hands of Boston Bros. Floral tributes were sent by: - Loving
