The death occurred at St. Marys on
Thursday last of Mrs. Emma Jane Dickinson, wife of Mr. James Dickinson,
of Tumut and formerly of Adelong and Wondalga, at the age of 87
years. Deceased was born at Adelong, being a
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Roe, and after her marriage
to Mr. James Dickinson resided at Wondalga for many years, where they
carried on farming pursuits. For the past three months deceased had
been staying with her son William at St. Mary's. Senile decay was
the cause of death. Besides the aged husband, the surviving
family comprises William (St. Marys), Frederick (New Zealand),Harriet (Mrs. Sturgess, Tumut), Stanley
(Tumut) and Roy (Sale, Vic.). Those deceased are Hilda (Mrs. W.
Broome), Jack and Cecil. Brothers and sisters who also survive are
Messrs. Chas. Roe (Ade long), Frederick Roe (Goulburn), Allie, Louisa,
James and Nancy. Two sisters, Mrs. H. Whatman and Mrs. H. Boston predeceased her. The funeral took place in Adelong on
Friday last, interment being made in the Church of England portion of
the Adelong Cemetery. Rev. G. K. Armstrong officiated at the graveside
and funeral arrangements were in the hands of Boston Bros. Floral tributes were received from:- Stan, Kate and family; Hazel and Frank and
