The death occurred in the Albury Hospital
on Thursday morning of Mrs. Rose Hodges, of Morven, at the age of 55
years. Deceased was born at Gregadoo and came to reside at Morven more than 30
years ago. She leaves five daughters: Daphne (Mrs. M. Toohey,
Tumut), Rose (Mrs. J. Toohey, Fairfield), Pheobe (Mrs. Wakefield, Numurkah), Jean (Mrs. J. Cameron,
Morven), Ruby (Tumut), and four sons, Messrs. Ruben Hodges (Tumut),
Stanley, Herbert and Claude Hodges (Morven). She is also survived by four sisters and
five brothers. They are Mrs. E. Bradshaw (Morven), Mrs. J. Davis (Wagga),
Mrs. E. Burgin (Morven) Mrs. H. McNuff
(Morven), and Messrs. E. and C. Holder (Holbrook), R. Holder (Henty)
and W. and A. Holder (Morven) . Her husband predeceased her 12 years
ago. Interment took place in the Church of
England portion of the Culcairn cemetery, the cortege moving from the Church
of England, Culcairn, following a service conducted by the Rev. K. Luders, who also officiated at the graveside. The coffin-bearers were Messrs. V.
and R. Holder, H., R. and S. Hodges and S. McNuff.
Lester and Son, Albury, had charge of the funeral arrangements. |
