Tumut

It appears to be conjectured (according to some Sydney newspapers)
that the Tumut railway will not be included in the policy to be divulged on
Wednesday. If such turns out to be correct the indignation of the residents
of the district will know no bounds. All are confident that the line will be included. Both the Ministers
who visited Tumut some time ago, and the members of Parliament who
accompanied them, gave every encouragement to the people that the line would
be placed in the list for consideration. The Minister of Mines gave a direct promise that it would be included
in the policy, and the Minister of Works definitely said that such would be
the case. It is thought that the member for the district should use all the
means in his power to have the interests of the district attended to. |
