Tumut
Sewerage Scheme 26
June 1945 The Tumut and Adelong Times |
Two-Thirds of Dwellings Now Connected. Approximately two-thirds of the total
number of dwellings within the Tumut sewerage area
have now been connected to the Shire Council s sewer, leaving 160
premises yet to be sewered, reported the
Health Officer Mr. J. F. Lockeridge, to the
last Council meeting. The completion of another house service
last week brought the total to 311 now on the scheme. Two other jobs are in course of construction,
whilst another is held-up waiting the convenience of the contractor, who
is busy elsewhere. An officer of the Sewerage Branch of the
Public Works Department visited Tumut recently and inspected the sewerage
treatment works and house service connections. The officer's report and recommendations
will be forwarded for Council's consideration later. |
